TOEFL

TOEFL stands for Test of English as a Foreign Language. It is a standardized test used to measure the English language proficiency of non-native English speakers who are planning to enroll in English-speaking universities or colleges.

The TOEFL test assesses candidates’ abilities in four key areas:

1. Reading: Candidates read academic passages and answer questions about them.
2. Listening: Candidates listen to lectures, classroom discussions, and conversations, then answer questions based on what they heard.
3. Speaking: Candidates express their opinions and ideas on familiar topics and respond to tasks based on reading and listening material.
4. Writing: Candidates write essays based on reading and listening tasks.

TOEFL scores are reported on a scale from 0 to 120, with each section scored separately. Different universities and colleges set their own minimum score requirements for admission, and specific programs may have different score expectations.
